Travel Deals!

Okay, time to start with the travel deals!  This is actually what I thought most of my blog would be about.  I've been doing some research and searching for deals for my trip to Vegas this July!  SO excited!  But I've been pretty obsessed with searching for deals on everything Vegas.  I'm pretty obsessed with deals and with travel in general, so this just combines the obsessions.
So here's one for you, and it's for more than just Vegas!  It's the "End of the Month" closeout from BookIt so you only have until midnight tomorrow to book these prices on their site.

Time to Venture into Color!

As I start to play more with clothes and how to pair them, I've been looking a lot at color lately.  For some reason I'm starting to think, the more color the better!
The picture below I put together two colors I really wouldn't have thought to put together before for some reason.  But after I did, I loved it.  AND I paired it with my fabulous colorful plaid shoes from my first post!  The colors I wore made the gloomy, cloudy day much more cheery!  :)

Note to self:  Play more with color and pairings!

My Next Style Attempt... Hats!

So, I've always loved hats, but never really would buy or wear them.  I don't know why really.  I would always just decide that I would look better without.  But again, trying to progress my style all the while having fun with my wardrobe, I found these hats yesterday and just couldn't help myself!  I think they are so fun so I thought I'd get them and give them a chance!  Maybe wear them on my Vegas trip this summer  :)

Believe it or not, both dresses and floppy hats are Columbia Sportswear while the hat in the top pic is Mountain Hardware (Men's).

My First Post... Shoes!!!

For my first post, I thought I’d be posting travel deals since I’m currently working on my birthday trip to Vegas in July and I'm pretty much obsessed with looking up any and all deals I can find!  BUT, as I was emailing a friend today and we were discussing Project Runway, we got on topic of my new shoes and how my style has progressed.  My friend told me to blog about it, haha!
I’ve noticed with maturing in my style, I’m trying to buy more basic and practical pieces as they are more versatile and just more polished than the trendy tops I used to go for.  And I definitely don’t want to do the screen-print t-shirt stuff as much anymore.  I'm over that and, well, I feel I'm just too old to pull that off anyway.  I'll leave that to the school/college kids.  It's been taking me a while (especially early careers days since funding is limited) but I finally have a more evolved style than college days.  However, I’m still getting used to it and trying to figure out exactly what I like.  What has happened with this though is now I feel as though my basic clothing pieces need awesome shoes!  J  And I like where that is going!

Here is my latest purchase and what I wore today!

They are the new Sorel Picnic Plimsole Plaid shoe.
I was a little skeptical at first since I've never had such flashy shoes (well, in flat form) but I just couldn't part with them.  I just had to step beyond my comfort zone and have fun with it!  I like them, that's all that really matters!  Plus, we should have fun with what we wear right? :)
Speaking of flats... I've never been into them, but since where I work is super casual, I found that I've been needed to explore the flat shoe world.  I'm trying my best, but who doesn't love a fabulous heel?!
